Operation Smile

The requirements we put in front of the Slainte team were significant: we needed to manage and use patient information in disconnected, semi-connected and connected environments; a system that would seamlessly address the diversity of our volunteer health providers, their languages and even cultural requirements impacting our work; a tool that would be so intuitive that even the least technologically savvy could learn how to use within hours; a stable and flexible platform that would allow for growth and modifications based on the needs of the care setting; really something that would allow for our clinicians around the world to reap the benefits of technology while remaining focused on their patients. We also wanted a system that we could use for trend analysis and improvement processes. Within weeks the Sláinte team had already worked a prototype which we took to the field, the response from our volunteer clinicians was overwhelmingly positive! There is a sense of great excitement at Operation Smile and we can see enormous potential in how this is going to help the organization.
