Release Issued by Wandi Nerida
Wandi Nerida, Australia's first Residential Eating Disorder Recovery Centre, owned and operated by Butterfly Foundation, and a collaboration of leading healthcare companies in clinical solutions, is proud to announce the Go-live of its fully integrated Digital Medical Record (DMR) system.
This milestone is a significant leap forward in delivering seamless, patient-centred care, enabled by cutting-edge technology solutions with a fully integrated digital medical record system, marking a significant milestone in digital healthcare in Australia.
What makes this unique is the collaborative partnership and drive from all the partners to ensure interoperability by enabling the best of breed in their speciality to come together and deliver a single source solution for the clinicians with their uniqueness being catered for.
The new system and collaborative Led by Vitro Software has delivered a Best of Breed Collaborative that integrates several advanced platforms, including:
- Vitro Digital Medical Record (DMR): Wandi Nerida have transformed their paper-based medical record into a digital solution allowing real-time entry and access to participant information within a digital medical record, streamlining workflows across the facility.
- Personify Care Digital Front Door: Through the development of personalised care pathways, clinical and administrative staff at Wandi Nerida will be able to engage with participants during pre-admission, whilst monitoring, controlling, and updating the pathways they deliver to their participants, without delay. The solution creates a secure system for sharing information and eliminates the need for email.
- Fydo Patient Administration System: Wandi Nerida will reach optimised operational efficiency through a SaaS patient administration system, with fully integrated Informed Financial Consent, State and Health Fund reporting as well as specifically designed reports meeting the needs of the facility.
- Consultmed eReferral Solution: Referrers to Wandi Nerida will use a streamlined communication and information exchange solution enabling electronic referrals to be received and processed, increasing security of information without the need for fax and email.
- HPA: Wandi Nerida will use Workstation on Wheels (WOWs) donated by HPA to enter clinical notes directly. The use of the WOWs will enable seamless workflow for clinical staff as they move the WOW through the facility.
The fully integrated digital medical record solution is the first of its kind, combining technologies from multiple vendors to create a seamless, collaborative system for Wandi Nerida. The system is designed to ensure a smooth and efficient operation with improved efficiency, allowing for the highest standard of care and enabling clinicians to access complete participant records at the point of care, anytime and anywhere.
The integration of these platforms allows Wandi Nerida to provide a seamless, connected healthcare experience for participants and staff alike. Clinicians will benefit from instant access to participant information, enhancing decisionmaking, reducing administrative burdens, and ensuring better participant outcomes and engagement. This initiative aligns with Queensland Health’s vision to create a more digitally connected healthcare system, improving patient safety, accessibility, and quality of care across the state.
The successful integration of these systems will position the facility as a leader in digital healthcare innovation. The Wandi Nerida collaborative is vital to the broader Australian healthcare system in setting a new standard for how healthcare facilities can integrate cutting-edge technology from multiple best-of-breed providers to create a unified and participant-centred approach to care. By breaking down silos between different systems and providers, this collaboration offers a model for how digital transformation can be implemented effectively.
For Wandi Nerida, it represents a forward-thinking step in aligning with global best practices, ensuring that public healthcare can keep pace with rapid advancements in digital health technology.
More broadly, for the Australian healthcare system, Wandi Nerida serves as a pioneering example of how integrated digital solutions pave the path for a more connected, efficient, and patient-focused healthcare ecosystem in Australia. This collaboration enables real-time data sharing, reduces redundancy, and ensures that every aspect of a participant’s care is fully coordinated across different departments and systems whilst enhancing the security of information.
Danielle Dougherty- Wandi Operations Director: “We are excited to implement this best-of-breed system, which will transform how we manage participant care at Wandi Nerida. We are grateful to the team at Vitro Software who have bought together and led the Best of Breed Collaborative to make this project a success and help Wandi Nerida and the Butterfly Foundation to achieve a common goal of delivering seamless, patient-centred care. A special thank you must go to HPA for their incredible generosity, donating over $30,000 worth of specialized equipment, which will have a significant impact on implementing this system and enhancing care for Wandi participants on a daily basis.”
