BreastScreen Victoria (BSV), the Victorian Government’s breast cancer screening program, went live with Vitro Software’s specialised Breast Screening Digital Medical Record (DMR). Staff at St Vincent’s BreastScreen, located at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne have now moved away from paper records and physical whiteboards. Staff now manage all client records digitally. They can track a client’s assessment journey directly from their workstations using a fully digitised Client Journey Board. The Journey Board colour-codes the client status in real time assisting staff to track client progress through the assessment clinic, creating operational efficiencies for BSV and providing clients with an improved experience...

We continually improve the clinician experience in Vitro, as we now include advanced Voice Enablement in our Digital Medical Record with features such as Voice Control, Speech to Text & Notes Templating. Voice enablement saves a tremendous amount of time on administration, while a clinician might typically type 40 words per minute or less, they speak over 120 words per minute. Voice commands are at the user's own pace; there is no requirement to wait for the text to appear on screen. In addition to reducing the time take to complete notes, through the templating functionality, Vitro Voice encourages more complete & consistent notetaking, improving overall quality & making clinical coding easier.

Vitro Software has included a new Remote Patient Management (RPM) and telemedicine module to its Digital Medical Record in partnership with myPatientSpace, offering patients ongoing clinician led care from the comfort and protection of their own homes, an increasingly important functionality for vulnerable patients in pandemic times.
Both patients and hospitals will benefit from the remote management, as non-critical hospital visits can be avoided and social distancing compliance will be easier, particularly in hospitals with reduced capacity due to COVID-19 restrictions. And it is expected that many patients’ recovery journeys can improve, empowering patients and with the added benefit of less travel required for their appointments.

Irish patients will move between hospitals in unprecedented numbers as hospital capacity is severely reduced by Covid19. Medical records need to follow these patients but there is currently no consistent, secure, and efficient method of record sharing in place across the health service. Records are routinely moved by registered post, courier or taxi raising issues of patient privacy, security of records and now, a contamination risk via handling of paper records in a hospital environment.
Dublin-based Vitro Software has today launched its proprietary software solution, called PIM or people in motion, already used by its worldwide client base, to Irish healthcare providers from as little as €1 per patient if broadly adopted (versus an €8 registered post fee and considerably more expensive for couriers/taxis).
